Setup and
Information for a Terry
Hargrave Workshop
When I have been sponsored for
workshops
in the past, most groups ask what type of room setup I prefer.
This
list is intended to give you an idea of what I like in a room when I
make
a presentation. I do my best to provide quality training and I
think
that this setup works best for me. Do not worry if you cannot
provide
this type of setup because I can work in almost any kind of situation
if
participants are willing to listen. I'm very "laid-back" and
anything
but an obsessive-compulsive workshop leader.
-Chairs set up in
a theater or
classroom style which allows access to the center of the room.
-Video tape
player/monitor.
If there are more than 100 people, two monitors work better. If
it
is a very large room with more than 150 people, you might consider
using
a projection player. If possible, I prefer to have a remote to be
able to work the vhs player.
-One large
blackboard (or erasable
marker board) with sturdy foundation. I really prefer not to use
the tripod type if possible.
-Wireless lapel
microphone if
the room requires sound amplification.
-Small
table. I do not use
a podium and do not stay rooted to one spot when I teach. I need
a small surface, however, to keep my notes and materials within easy
reach.
-Book table in the
rear of the
room to serve for ads, brochures, and books. I think it is
helpful
to have my books available at the workshop for participants to purchase
if they so desire. I can bring a few books with me if requested,
but it works better if you will contact my publishers directly to order
books for sales. They will offer the books to you at a discount
and
you can return any unsold books.
Titles:
Most people contact me
concerning a particular
subject and we work out the title of the workshop in advance.
Unless
we have specifically discussed the title of the workshop, I prefer to
use
the following titles for my professional workshops:
Marital
Workshop:
The
Essential Humility:
Therapeutic Processes in Marital Therapy
Grief
Workshop:
Grief and
Loss: Assessment
and Therapy
Aging Workshop:
Finishing
Well: Therapy
in the Aging Family
Forgiveness
Workshop:
Families and
Forgiveness:
Healing Wounds in the Intergenerational Family
Travel Expenses:
I am very flexible in
trying to accommodate
low travel expenses. I do like a nice hotel room, but it
certainly
does not have to be fancy. I will work with you to try and secure
the lowest possible airline ticket. I keep my receipts with me to
turn in at the end of the workshop. Please let me know your
reimbursement
policy and time frame.
Presenter Payment:
Please contact me about my
workshop fee.
Cancellation Policy:
I have never canceled or
missed a workshop
that I contracted for. If I cancel for any reason, I will
reimburse
you for any workshop related expenses that you cannot recoup due to the
cancellation. If you cancel the workshop, there is no
penalty.
I only ask that you reimburse any cancellation fees that I cannot
recoup
from nonrefundable airline tickets.
