Terry Hargrave's Practice

I have been in practice since 1986 and have a Ph.D. from Texas Woman's University in marriage & family therapy.  I also hold  M.A. degrees from Southwestern Baptist Seminary and West Texas A&M University.

I specialize in the treatment of marital issues and gerontological patients.  I come from a systemic perspective (Contextual Therapy) and work primarily in the treatment of family problems and long-standing intergenerational issues.  Although these are the areas of my specialization, I am also very familiar with treating a variety of common problems such as anxiety or depression.

In addition to my counseling practice, I am an approved supervisor by the Licensed Professional Counselor Board of Examiners in Texas.  As such, I am fully qualified to provide supervision to LPC-Interns.

I am a full-time Professor of Counseling at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas.  I see only 6 to 8 clients a week due to my limited time, so I do not always have appointments immediately available.  In order to schedule an appointment with me or another therapist at Amarillo Family Institute, Inc., please call 374-5950.
